Description

Jordan Kressler, Princess von Richthofen

Jordan Kressler was born in Oregon in November 1986, and had a love of flying from an early age. Already a skilled pilot when she joined the Imperial Air Force in February 2000, she quickly rose to become one of the Reiches Luftwaffe's leading aces. By November 2003, she was a Major with the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and seventy-eight kills to her credit. As the war continued and the fighting grew ever-more intense, her chance for combat increased dramatically, and so did her number of kills. Awards and promotions came steadily as well; by June 2006 she was a General der Flieger with the Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds to her Knight's Cross, in addition to having been awarded the Erich Hartmann Award, which was a ribbon presented to any fighter pilot who surpassed Luftwaffe Oberst Erich Hartmann's record of 352 confirmed kills.

On 1 July 2006 she was assigned as a Group Leader in the elite Alpha Geschwader, a squadron comprising the Reiches Luftwaffe's best fighter pilots tasked with defending the Imperial capital from American air raids. Kressler's skills combined with her flying an Aosaka Z-1000 'Anubis' jet fighter proved to be a terrifying match; by the end of the war many pilots simply cut and run when her black-painted fighter was spotted streaking through enemy formations. On 4 July 2006, she was promoted to Generaloberst and awarded the Platinum Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds.

By August 2006, Kressler was well on her way to a new career goal she had set for herself, but her obsession on achieving said goal was bordering on dangerous behavior; she was refusing to answer recalls and breaking off pursuit of retreating enemy aircraft, continuing to shoot at her enemies until being reprimanded over the radio or until her ammunition ran out. Upon examination of Alpha Geschwader's kill records, Commanding Officer Generaloberst Kurt Frankmann was stunned to discover Kressler had 488 kills to her credit, more than any other pilot in the Luftwaffe (Frankmann himself was the second-highest-scoring ace with 394 kills). Kressler was ordered to take leave to hopefully get her mind off her career obsession, but when she returned to duty five days later she was just as eager as ever to score kills.

On 15 August 2006, Kressler received her Field Marshal's baton and was named Viscountess von Richthofen. Five days later, in an attempt by Grand Marshal Irving to keep his five senior aces alive for the rest of the war, Kressler received word she'd been grounded. The newly-minted Field Marshal's response to the order was to burst out laughing and state it was the funniest joke she'd ever seen. The following day, her obsession was realized when she scored her 500th kill. On 24 August, the five pilots were called to Air Force Headquarters to answer for disobeying the grounding order; after speaking with Irving, the Grand Marshal lifted the order and normal operations resumed. Kressler was awarded the Imperial Grand Cross that evening.

Two days later, the Imperial-American War ended. Kressler had managed to add even more to her total; by war's end her final tally was 526 confirmed kills. Postwar, she has managed to further her kill total, scoring six kills from the Royal Danish Air Force over Greenland in May 2007, and five Royal Air Force fighters in interdiction patrols over the Denmark Strait during the initial Imperial occupation of Iceland, bringing her kill total to 537. These achievements have earned her the honor of being one of only two recipients (the other being tank-destroyer ace Robert Sperrle) of the Star with Diamonds to the Imperial Grand Cross, as well as a promotion to Grand Marshal on 20 April 2012 during the Founder's Day Celebrations. She is married to Field Marshal Jason Skorzeny, Commander of Air Commando Dark Force (Luftwaffe Special Forces).
